SUNRISE BOOTCAMP


This class meets at 5:50 am at the New Trier East Campus. That’s right a sunrise class, exhilarating and never boring!  Crawl out of bed and show up. Within minutes you will be wide awake! Strengthen, Tone and best of all reach the cardio fitness levels for your age making your heart and lungs happy!

This is a whole body workout session designed to tone and sculpt your body and improve your personal fitness level and agility. High energy interval training combinations, strengthening, core for a complete workout that will get you into shape.  All levels are welcome; work at your own pace.

On a normal day you will find us in the Gates Gym. When weather permits, you will see us outside, on the track and field, or maybe the tennis courts. If it is raining, we will be in the Kick-Box studio, where we kick things up a bit! Please bring an exercise mat, hand weights, towel, and water.

PRIMER FLOOR PILATES-CORE STRENGTHENING

Pilates is a system and philosophy of exercises based on the work of Joseph Pilates (1883-1967) that focuses on precision and optimal alignment, requiring your focus to increase motor control.  Pilates method is gentle but effective  in nature, as well as therapeutic. Pilates Primer for beginners and for the novice. You will learn 34 mat exercises, including the fundamental tenets of posture, body mechanics, correct breathing, spinal flexibility, and  natural exercises.

CIRCUIT STRENGTH TRAINING


All the latest research suggest strength training is key to maintaining health and retaining youth. Strength training releases hormones from our endocrine system into the bloodstream which activate blood, muscles, cells, bones and tissues. Join this fun hour, and listen to great music too! Never a dull moment in this class! For fun we set the timer for one minute and work with stations, moving to a new station every other minute. Check it out for yourself! Come and visit, try it out, see if you like it, then sign up.

Come join us for a music-driven hour of strength training utilizing free weights, tubing, medicine balls and your own body weight. No age requirement, no previous experience, no jumping or explosive movements. All you need is a smile on your face and a spring in your step!
We have a lot of fun in this class! It changes weekly to challenge your muscles!

Monday Evening Class NT West Campus

PERSONAL GROUP TRAINING

Here is your chance to have a personal trainer, in a group atmosphere. This is a results driven class designed to take you to the next level of fitness. Enjoy the benefits of personal training combined with the motivation that comes from being part of a team. Bring your fitness goals to the trainer for a program designed just for you. Your personal program is changed  every four weeks so you stay focused and motivated. Small group training will teach you how to work out and keep your body injury free, with a primary focus on staying healthy and fit. An interval-inspired routine will test your cardiovascular fitness, along with body conditioning through strength training, with additional focus on stretch and balance. Lot’s of fun and lot’s of individual work at your pace.

This is a results-driven class designed to take you to the next level of fitness. Enjoy the benefits of personal training combined with the motivation that comes from being part of a team. Bring your fitness goals to the trainer for a program designed just for you. The center is open from 5-7, however unofficially we often open by 4:00, so check with the trainer. Learn how to use equipment in the gym, understand interval training, and learn why you need strength training.

Tuesday Evening Class NT West Campus

CORE AND BACK STRENGTH

This class is sweeping the country! Thanks to a local physical therapist, we are able to provide this very exciting and cutting edge class. The focus is to increase your core strength, working through the 3-Dimensional parts of our body, increasing the strength in your back and flexibility with your knees. This class for both men and women, will strengthen your pelvic girdle and core to increase your mobility, strength and stability using the specially designed Pelvicore Pro tool and specific exercises taught by certified instructor. Weak or imbalanced core muscles can lead to lower back pain, hip pain, knee pain and pelvic floor dysfunction/incontinence. The pelvic girdle core is composed of your back abdomen, hips and diaphragm, all of which are inter-connected and strengthened when they are worked together as a unit.

SWEAT & STRETCH

The newest class to our portfolio of classes! Come and join us to jump-start your saturday! 20 mins, of sweating, of course age appropriate for everyone. We will operate through a series of moves to increase your heart rate and sweat! I highly encourage you invest in a heart rate monitor so that you can really understand how to work out for your age. Learn how aggressive to be or if you need to slow it down. Knowledge is power! 20 mins of nice long stretching. Static stretching with 20 to 30 second holds will increase body flexibility while decreasing pain in all your joints!
