Cardio Strength Class, Switches Up Often
Cardiovascular Fitness Health & WellnessThe first goal is not to become stale and tedious; we will definitely quit! The second goal is to exercise safely to prevent injury. We are here to build muscle mass, increase strength, reduce muscle atrophy, and improve balance.
- Building Strength: Getting strong for the Real World, versus a controlled environment for Building Muscles, as in Sculpting. We do this often; however, for real-world strength conditioning, it’s a little different.
- A small example is the half-rack weight system. The bar weighs 36 pounds, the strong bar catches 5 pounds, and the durable bar supports each weighing 8 pounds. It’s a perfect place to set up, move the bar, remove the holders, and place them back in place.
- Treadmills, Sidewalks, and Backwards, as we are three-dimensional human beings, we need to train as such.
- Bar Hangs: Every human should be able to hang from the bar. It is not easy; however, over time, it becomes easier, and your timing will improve. Keep your goal to 1-minute hang time, one second at a time!
We always begin with Treadmills, which should only be approximately 3 minutes per person. Then we move on to other specific exercises, and I decide which one that evening. Most of our work will involve weights, although there are times when we will bike or focus on specific muscle groups, such as the legs or arms. We will do many things, so don’t be surprised!
Props for these classes if you need them. Not doing the work is not an option if you want to stay strong and healthy as you age. Modifications are the only option!
Weight Lifting Gloves – (Same gloves for hanging.) Knee Support, wrist support, and back support.
We ride the spin cycles often. If your tush hurts, you might consider a gel cushion for the seat. It slips on the seat, and your ride becomes heaven. 🙂 These slip-on covers are under $30. Otherwise, if you own bicycle pants, you should keep them in your bag.
